Friday's report

Dear Diary,

 This morning I weighed in at 267.   I know that I'll lose water at first. 

I intended to exercise today, but everything took more time than expected.  I went grocery shopping at a store with an amazing and amazingly inexpensive produce section.  Stocked up on some fruits and trying some new vegetables.

Food log:  2 cups of skim milk, 1 cup of lentils,  a chunk of pineapple, 8 oz decaf coffee (nothing added), cup of vegetable soup, 1/2 vegetable sandwich, italian roll at Panera.  (I was so starving after shopping, relaxed and ate and enjoyed the experience)  1 small pear, 1 cup of skim milk, 1 cup of lentils, 1 piece of homemade banana bread, (no sugar added, whole wheat flour and oatmeal) 2 cups of decaf green tea.

 I'm trying to reduce my caffeine intake to avoid the jitters that make me feel hungry.  Trying to increase green tea for its antioxidant and fat burning properties.

 Praise for today:  I did pretty good for a second day. I am strong enough! 

Not praise: I'm being a little obsessive and hope to balance myself so I don't  binge and give up.  I didn't get to exercise, must make it a priority.  I also didn't drink enough water.

Short Term Goal

Dear Diary,

Since this time last year I lost 25 pounds and gained 6 back.  I attribute my sort-of success to a change in job, I'm much more active now. 

I have some events coming in about month that I'd like to feel more confident for, a couple of weddings, a vacation, you know, the kind of events where people like to take pictures.  Even though I've been a big girl since 4th grade, when I am active and making healthy choices, I look much better in those pictures.  I'd like to make a diary to motivate myself and make me accountable.  If I have to put information in print, maybe I will try harder to control that information. 

The last time I weighed myself I was 270.2.  So, I'll report tomorrow. 

My short-term goal is to lose 10 pounds in a month.  I know it's ambitious, but I have a lot to lose and I think that will give me a nice jumpstart. 

I have yet to make a specific plan on how I am going to do this.  I know the basics, eat healthier, exercise more.  Any specific suggestions?
