LUKASZ ZALUKSA admits there's no guarantee he'll be the new Celtic No.1 if Artur Boruc quits Parkhead.

Italians Fiorentina are the latest club to be linked with a possible transfer swoop for Neil Lennon's first-choice keeper.

Stand-in Zaluska has dreamed of stepping into Boruc's shoes since joining from Dundee United last season.

The 28-year-old spent most of last term playing second fiddle to his fellow Pole. But amid rumours of Boruc moving this summer Zaluska's hopes could finally be realised.

But he fears Celtic would only bring in another top goalie and he'd be back to square one.

Zaluska said: "It's hard to say what will happen with Artur. The transfer window Airrift has only been opened a short time and nothing much has happened with the World Cup going on.

Changes "There's always a lot of talk about Artur being sold by Celtic - it seems to come up every six months. And overall there are a lot of changes going on at the club with the new manager putting his stamp on things.

"Sure, if Artur was to leave it could increase my chances of becoming first choice and that's what I have worked towards since I came to Celtic.

"But the likely scenario is they would buy a new keeper and I'd have to compete with him too. If that happens I'm ready for it.

"Even Artur couldn't tell you himself whether or not he will be with Celtic next season. The club means a lot to him and it's something he has to decide.

Meanwhile, Finland boss Stuart Baxter last night insisted he's still open to the possibility of joining Lennon's Hoops revolution.

His current employers reacted angrily to Celtic's approach, insisting there was no way the Scot would be allowed to work part-time elsewhere But the veteran coach remains interested in acting as mentor to Lennon- and is still hoping Celtic can reach agreement with the Finnish FA.

Baxter said: "I believe I would have the time to be involved with Celtic in some form and continue my work with Finland. "The real question is whether the Finnish Federation would allow me to go over to Glasgow and assist Neil."
